If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook these days, you know my posts have been more about my time lifting than running. I’ve had a few friends reach out and ask if I’m still running. It’s so very weird to me to share I haven’t run since early December. Who am I? No really, who am I? That’s what I’ve been asking myself for a while as I go through whatever this season is. While I’m working that out (pun totally intended), the results of an interesting study came up from my friends at Mizuno Running that answered the question, What If Everybody Ran?
Please don’t get your fact-driven-data-needing panties in a bunch. You can find the details here and disclaimer that they did, as athletes do, take some leaps of faith. While primarily illustrative and hypothetical, I think we can all agree that running makes for better people. period.
I’ve seen it personally in my life, I’ve seen it through the tragedy and the amazing events that took place after the Boston Marathon last year, and I’ve seen it in so many of your lives. Yes, I’m taking a break from running, but this was such a great reminder of why I love running, and why I’ll be back. What about you? This is happening tonight and I hope to see you there:
Tonight we’ll be chatting about life and running with the FitFluential family. I couldn’t say it it any better, so this is from their site:
Mizuno Running believes running has the ability to transform, and they aim to support that transformation by providing the shoes help bring about that personal Mezamashii (“brilliant”) run. Now they’ve asked the question: what if everybody ran? And in answer, they commissioned a statistical analysis to see what would change in a world with millions more runners. You can see the awesome results at IfEverybodyRan.com. Join us as we chat on Twitter about the transformative power of running for individuals and how more runners would change the world!
How does running change a life? How would the world be different if everybody ran? How would your world change?
Chime in below and let me know your thoughts, and if I’ll see you on the twitterverse tonight!
