Hi friends! I’m trying not to give you the big photo dump of my weekend at the LAFitExpo. But sheesh. Mind. Blown.
My friend Marlo came with me for the weekend and even though we met through running, our fitness paths are taking us two different directions. I’m all about them gains these days, she’s still running and coming from a weight loss/bootcamp background. Regardless, there really was something for everyone and motivation to keep you moving forward in your fitness journey. A little Throwback Thursday with some Tae Bo, anyone? Yep, Billy Blanks still rocks.
There were other cardio workouts you could participate in like Piloxing, R.I.P.P.E.D. and Zumba and competitions throughout the expo weekend and Marlo had a major sweat sesh with the Piloxing Barre session. I didn’t tell her I’d taken a barre class before and she was in for a major workout. I think she’s still sore from it. Hehe….
There was a Crossfit style competition:
A few different strongman/power lifting competitions:
And even arm wrestling, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, jump roping, and the American Ninja Warriors
One of the first things everyone should learn in their fitness journey is that it always starts with food. You can’t out train a bad diet, no matter how hard you’re working out. The FitExpo had SO MANY exhibitors that not only wanted to have you try their product, but educate you as well. I mentioned the entire Healthy Living Pavillion in my last post, but was too busy following all the muscles to sit through any of the cooking sessions. Because this. For reals. Ha. Seriously, just walking the expo, there was so much to take in when it came to food and nutrition, not just supplements.
As soon as we walked in, we were met with what could have been a total store front for Quest Nutrition. They even did a fashion show with their gear
that I also missed while following muscles around.
I may have had more than my fair share of pancakes from my new friends at Pumped Up Pancakes. Let me tell you, Chocolate Peanut Butter. You’re welcome.
There were even great alternatives to your standard chips & dip snack food.
I know this is only a sliver of the expo so yes, another post with the real photo dump is coming. 🙂
