Well, hello stranger! I know, I know… been a while! Sometimes life gets lived out in reality, go figure. It’s been a busy couple of weeks, with some long overdue posts and updates. Going through my mental rolodex of life, I eat. A lot. So Foodie Friday it is…
Social Media Day recently… meh, samples and some networking. It was short lived.

| Only worth posting because, hello… pop chips! |
|
|
| Very short lived once you noticed the grizzle floating on top |
Not too long ago, True Food Kitchen opened up and I’ve been itching to give it a try. Looked good & have an upcoming event that this could be perfect for. The hubs and I checked it out for dinner one night. What in the world was I thinking?!? He ordered a soda and got a ‘natural’ agave soda. He ordered the bison burger and the waitress asked if he wanted the kale or sweet potato hash. Umm, the second thing. After she left, he informed me that hash sounded familiar, but isn’t kale the stuff that manatee’s eat? Honey, that would be kelp, not kale. True story. He was not pleased. I didn’t even bother explaining it wasn’t a wheat bun, but flax seed.

|
| His way to healthy plate |
I ordered the Ricotta Cheese Ravioli. Corn broth = fake alfredo sauce. Not bad, but I would have been angry if I didn’t ask them to add chicken to it because it would not have been enough food for a three year old.
I won’t even mention that it took THIRTY minutes for us to get our food. Oh, did I just mention that? Clearly we should have gone to Stacked, but the hubs was a trooper. So we got Yogurt after to get rid of the nasty taste the healthy food left in his mouth. His words, not mine. (*And yes, he knows I’m posting his comments, I’m not pulling one of those ‘make my husband look like a loser’ cards. Cuz he’s not. So there.)

|
| It’s the angle, really. It wasn’t that full. Promise. |
After my long run this past weekend, I got home and we were out the door before I could get some real food in me. Once the hubs said he was hungry for fish and chips, I found the closest place and we went.
|
|
| This totally counts for salt replacement, right? |
Another sad meal for the hubs. The fish was bland. I didn’t even bother with a picture. Poor hubs.
Then somewhere in there was a dinner with a girlfriend who has the same taste buds as me. Hello, chicken marsala & mushroom love. Oh, right. I neglected to mention there were mushrooms in the burger from True Food. Yeah, hubs is not a fan of mushrooms, either.
So aside from eating A. LOT. I have been on track with the running. I think my knees are getting old because the rest of me will not get old still adjusting to running hills because they tend to be a little sore the next couple of days. I think I might have to take a break from my Cadence {shudder} and stick with the Adrenaline’s for a bit longer. I’m hoping the added support and regular pill popping (glucosamine, people!) will help with my knees and my shoulder. Who gets tendinitis in the shoulder from running?

I think the major foodage has come about between an amp in weekly miles – I finally broke 30 miles for the week – and some wicked PMS. I’m still keeping up with the Mom Runner and her Ten Pound Summer Slim Down. In spite of all the eating, I’m actually down about four pounds and have picked up the pace with my runs during the week. My last run on the ‘mill was seven miles and it was sub 9′s all the way!!! I’ve been pretty consistent with negative splits, and managed to hit my fastest 10k (54:08) and fastest mile (8:02). I’m over it when it comes to thinking treadmill runs don’t count, so this made me pretty happy.

I came, I ate, that is all. Back to some real posting of some (perceived) value later. It’s the hubs birthday today, so it’s time to not blow it with a dinner that will come back to kill me during my long run tomorrow. Hoping to make friends with fifteen miles. I’ve tried the last two weekends, but it does not want to come near me.

Ambassador for Fitfluential, Fit Approach (Sweat Pink), and Girls Gone Sporty, this {almost 40} mother runner is running it...

Don’t you just hate it when you have such high hopes for a meal… then it turns into an epic fail? What is it with eating out these days? I couldn’t believe the ravioli pic! My 4 year old would have been asking for more. Hope you got a salad to go with it!
Yay for your 4 less pounds! I hope tomorrow’s run is a breeze and you get a good square meal at some point this weekend!
I’m soooo jealous of your mile time! Oh, how I wish I could just get consistently under 9 minutes! I’m going to be working on my 10k time this week, so maybe there’s some hope yet…
Have a blessed weekend!
Oh girl, that’s only with the luxury of a climate-controlled-no-surprises treadmill run
That food looks amazing. I could reach through the screen and grab the onion rings!
I’m not usually a fan of onion rings, or fried food. Not gonna lie, they were pretty delish! I only had a bite of one, but the bbq sauce had a good kick to it.
