Deep Thoughts

Remember these from back in the day? A little old school SNL anyone?

Let’s do this

Ok, not really any deep thoughts going on here. We are, however, really heading to Disneyland!!
I don’t like the idea of being off track from the daily schedule, so I’ve got a game plan (sorta).

  • Runs all week have been consistent, and I’ve planned my long run for Monday since it’s a holiday and we’ll be back by then.
  • We’re staying at a hotel that is directly across the street from Disneyland that has a fitness center so I can still get my run & workouts in.
  • Packing healthy snacks so I don’t fill up on junk (not a lot anyway).
  • Early bedtime and an early workout before we go means I can travel guilt free.
  • I plan to ENJOY the time away. Mental rest is just as important as physical rest, so I’m happily going off the grid for the next few days.

The last time we went was two years ago. It was a full family trip with my sister and her family, my family, and my mom. I was also just a few weeks post foot surgery, so it made for a couple of long days trying to get around with a boot. In addition to hobbling around, we rented a wheelchair to get mom around. Me with the boot pushing mom in the chair. Awesome.

2009 – Sexy boot, I know
Maybe we’ll get another picture this time, minus the boot and some excess  baggage
This time, it will be just mini-me hitting the world of Disney along with my sister and her family.

My little nephew is now a big brother, so in spite of the crowds, I know it’ll be so much fun.

CAN. NOT. WAIT.
Um, brother-in-law does exist, really!
Somebody has to be the non-Asian driver!
:)

Question: What are you doing for the long weekend?
Do you try to stick with your workouts or do you take a fitness vacation as well?
